Learn what curated news is, how curated news is an effective tool for journalists, and how it is incorporated into our everyday content we receive.
What is Curated News?
I don’t know about you guys but curated news is a foreign term for me. After doing a little more digging on some informational sites, I found out that curated news, “gathers all these fragmented pieces of information to one location, allowing people to get access to more specialized content,” https://mashable.com/2011/03/10/curation-journalism/#4E5iMrj1KkqQ.
It honestly is not much different then what reporters have been doing, but as it states in the article, it is more transparent as you act as a middle man of the main source and the public.
Curators have a strong belief in building trust and establishing that trust with your audience. They enforce a kind of transparency for their public that journalists don’t usually focus on. They really just share the news, not claim it as their own.
