SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.- Myles Powell, senior guard for the Seton Hall men’s basketball team, was recently named a finalist for the Wooden Award for the 2019-2020 basketball season. This is an award that is selected by an advisory board to give the honor to the most outstanding men’s and woman’s basketball players in the country.
The Trenton native was a scoring machine all year, averaging 21 points per game this past season. He led the Pirates to a share of the regular season Big East Title before his March Madness run was cut short due to the cancellation of the tournament, https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4065816/myles-powell.

- First-Team All-Big East
The Wooden Award was not the only one notable award Powell received this year, the senior guard was also named to the Associated Press All-America First Team. He was the first Pirate since phenom Walter Dukes in 1953 to earn the honor.
He was also listed as a finalist for the Naismith Trophy along with Azubuike (Kansas), Garza (Iowa), Pritchard (Oregon) and Toppin (Dayton). This award is in honor of the man who created basketball. A board and fans get to mutually decide who receives this award.
